Ballet Philippines presents Don Quixote!

Derived from an episode of the novel by Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes, this adaptation follows an aging gentleman who had deluded himself to be a knight-errant rescuing damsels in distress, and the adventures of young lovers Kitri and Basilio. The story culminates with the most popular dance duet in ballet history, the couple's grand pas de deux.

Setting the stage afire as the spirited Kitri is Ballet Philippines' own gem, Carissa Adea, silver medalist in the 2010 International Ballet Competition. She has studied under several top teachers beginning with Josette Slanag, Jinggay Formoso, Sofia Zobel for RAD, Brezhnev Larlar and Lisa Macuja.

Emmanuelle Guillermo joined Ballet Philippines as an apprentice and has now become a company member this season. He started his dance training at the age of 12 at Steps Dance Studio under Marion Ignacio and Sophia Zobel for Ballet, James and Liselle Laforteza for Jazz and Jun Saagundo and Marion Ignacio for Modern.
